Reccomend a Photoshop Book...

Hmm...not sure if something like this was in the old graphic-forums, but I thought it would be a good idea to have some sort of referrence when buying photoshop books. This could include anything from the technical view of photoshop to techniques and history. So post your favorite Pshop Book! :grin:

Photoshop face to face, you can learn a lot from it. Great book, i dont got it myself, but i heard alot saying that it was good.

I have the book its great also another book I know it may sound korny is "How to Cheat in Photoshop". I think thats a good book for somthing that is beginning to intermediate. But as you guys said Photoshop face to face is really good, I find it more for a advanced person that know most controls in photoshop. Its def worth checking out.

i like Gary Bouton's books too....well thats the only real book on PS that i've had so i can only talk about what i know but that guy has a nice way of explaining stuff.

How about Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Classroom in a Book? I'm not sure what this teaches but Adobe uses these as part of their official training and certification program.

Remember you must first learn the program before you can learn technique.

the how to cheat book mentioned by gsstecka is amazing. dont let the cover throw you as it is HORRIBLE though..definitly worth the buy. any of the friends of ed books are great as well...unfortunately though the company has folded, a shame too as all of their books were great and packed full of useful information.

Also Photoshop Face To Face is amazing if you want to get into Photomanilpulation and learn the basics. This is more of a advanced book so theres your heads up.

I just got that book cause I wanted to know some pure basic stuff I never learned :P I went strait to advanced... but since my uncle wants to use Photoshop too now... I adviced him this book cause he doesn't understand shit from anything, he called me yesterday just to ask how to chose another color...

Do you own a copy of that type effects book you did work for? I need the settings for the stained glass tutorial in it and the one I referenced at Border's here is gone, dammit to hell! Don't people know it's my version of the public library? Anyway, can you post the setup for the glass blur settings? I have the frames down, so that is all I need... a .PDF would work to if you have a scanner. LOL Oh, and hey, I have a paypal account and I'm not afraid to use it!
