eps files

i have been handed images from a mac that have the eps extension even though they are all bitmap images and contain no vectors, although they still contain clipping paths.

Is there any benefit or reason why you think these images were saved as .eps instead of the usual tif format.

Sometimes Mac tiffs don't work on PCs. The EPS file format works on all platforms... this would be the preferred file format to send to the printer. I hope that helps.

Plus the quality of an eps file is better than the quality of any other file.

And cliping paths, don't work in tiff format
