Another good thing to start off with is to just play around with it! Find out how the different tools works, and just play around and have fun :D

Mystic you have splended website man. Wish i could one day do stuff like that. well lets see how far can i reach. hoping to get your help when i stuck.
hmmm most people wpuld hate me for saying this but i think its the best way to start off...
Photoshop has a whole lot of these filters... some are in built and some are from other vendors like Alien Skin, Xenofex, DSB Flux, etc. now using filters is bad since they are easily recognisable and not really your own work... but if you're starting off in Photoshop theyre a great way to give you a feel of graphics and ghet your creativity going....
eventually say within a month you'll get bored of them... then you can move on to proper design such as manips, texturing etc...

Tell you what rY I have installed PS for less than 48 hours and i am already done with the filters. Btw thanks for your post, it sure helps me know what kind of standards are set by you people i mean "now using filters is bad since they are easily recognisable and not really your own work" Remember i am a new commer so i have to learn things. Thanks for the ride rY

Actually filter helps to further enhance your work. Take for example the Gaussian Blur.
Take a picture of someone or something. Go to Layer » New » New Layer From Background and then duplicate it, (Layer » Duplicate Layer) a shorter cut is to use the layer palette at the bottom right and drag that one layer to the new layer icon (it's a piece of paper with a donkey ear).
Then Gaussian Blur the layer benath to 5.0 and set the above layer to Overlay. You should get something bright and soft looking, this is actually a tutorial from somewhere, but it seems to be everywhere.

Filters are most definatly a way to start.
What I did after I was done with the filters and main options of photoshop was to look at someones work and try to create something similar, the same effects. After you succeeded in that, take a completely different image and try to create the same effects seen in that. This way you will learn to create a big variety of methods, wich you did learn yourself, you tend to forget tutorials much quicker. Be sure not to rip any images though, but to start 100% from scratch, and work from there. Also, don't release these images, as they are not original, but pretty much just plain copies of other peoples work.
yeah actually initially using filters really helps to make you appreciate PS's default filters coz you use a 3rd party filter and you note how its done and then you start to wonder if it can be done without 3rd party filters and after a few months of practice you notice how ONE filter can simulate a lil of the 3rd party flter so you try and combine filters to get that effect and blah blah blah blah blah blah heh ehh
but you should seriously consider discontinuing working with 3rd party filters once you know your way around PS coz in my opinion, it really doesnt help improve your skill level

Comon guys, No one knows how to send an attachment from your HD.
you need to upload your image to your server then use the img function to link it, its in the vbcode box above your reply page

on Server. I'm sorry but can you give me an example.
lets say i have a domain: abc.zabvision.edu.pk
no prob, if you upload your pic via ftp to your server, then you will be able to reach it by using the extension http: //abc.zabvision.edu.pk/test.jpg (without spaces), that will give you a link to the image if you type it into your message, but using the img tags the pic will show up in the thread, [IMG ]http: //abc.zabvision.edu.pk/test.jpg[/IMG ] (also without spaces), both options are easily accesible in the vbcode box, just press one of the buttons and it'll prompt you for the link, then it will wrap the tags around for you
