Does anyone have an idea of what programs might have been used to create the graphics (icons) on this site? I love the style, but think it would be incredibly difficult to do in Photoshop.

Any ideas would be a great help!

it can be done easily in ps, using gradients and some brush work..
I believe that's how it was done..

it can be done in PS

there are two ways though (as far as i know)

Method 1: create the shape in PS(make sure its very big) | then use a feathered air brush to get the highlights | and then scale it down | work on multiple layers and be sure to link the layers when you resize them

Method 2: create the shape in PS (once again it must be quite big) | select the shape by Ctrl+Clicking on the layer | goto the channels tab and create a new channel......make note of the name | with the selection still active on the channels tab, fill it with white and then goto filter>blur>gaussian blur and use an appropriate value(the goal here is to make the outline very smooth so that the white and black dont contrast too much) | goto the layers tab and fill that layer with grey (R:148 G:148 B:148) and goto Filters>render>lighting effects and choose omni and mess with the settings till you get a slight bevelled look (make sure you have selected the channel you edited i nthe channel box) | click ok and now hit Ctrl+M for the curves dialog box and adjust it till you get a metallish look...it shouldnt be too hard if you know the mechanics of the curves box

if it doesnt turn out right, PM me and ill tell you how it works...i gotta go get a life :) bye, hope it helps heh

PS: If you really want to make icons (i.e. images with the extension .ico or even any animated cursors, i suggest you get Microangelo...IMO its the best icon creating/editing prog on the market)
