Here's an example of the thick lines im talking about:

Its from a drawing I scanned. My lines are always thick... Is there a way for me to make it look more straight and thinner?

Hmm, no easy way I can think of since they are fat in some parts and thin in others. I think you'll be stuck brushing over or deleting them.

yeh thats wut I thought
but Im amaze by some of you guys line art... so thin and straight. How do you guys do it? :o
im no expert in line art (understatement heh) but you might want to try this:
*make a copy of the layer
*use curves(ctrl+V) on the duplicate and eliminate all the colours except for the black by tweaking it....you could also use Image>Adjustments>Thresholds too i guess
*now select the the black remains of that layer (either by Ctrl+Clicking on the layer or using the magic wand) and goto the channels tab and create a ne channel and fill the selection with white
*hit ctrl+D to deselect and apply the filter>blur>gaussian blur with a setting sufficient enough to blur the white quite a bit
* while on the channels tab, hit Ctrl+L to bring up the levels dialog box (you can even use the curves here but some peops prefer levels coz its easy to use) and bring the two sliders at either end towards the center slider till your lines look smooth
* now all you do is make a selection of that channel and fill it with whatever colour you want in the layers tab
i hope that helped...although there maybe better ways to do it
by the way did you know that deadlines suck?????
~goes back to finishing with his project~
yup that will clean them up quite a bit, but i think its more to do with your drawing style, if you work on getting rid of them on paper then scanning them will be easy, oh, this tut will help on the scanning - http://www.steeldolphin.com/tutorials_scanning_lineart.php
