Installing Plugins

Can somebody tell me how the F**K i get plugins to WORK on my mac running in Photoshop?!?! I downloaded some and i cant f**ken get them to work, ive put tthem in almost EVERY F**KEN FOLDER and all i get is F**KALL!

Hmm...ok first of all...if I were a mod...I would warn you ;)
Second, might want to put them under the file "plug-ins" where you installed photoshop.

Okay, pardon my ignorance, but why would you warn me? Sorry for anything that might have been offensive....

Anyways, where exactly in plugins? Photoshop only or under the root directory of the plugins folder? Im shit outta luck here, ive got some few sample plugins and i cant get these to work....

Mind your language, that's what he meant.
And drop your files in the Photoshop/Plug-Ins folder directly and when your start PS up next time, it should be in your Filters list.

Nope, still not working.....do plugins have to be new or can they be back from like, photoshop 5 days and still work on PS7?

Okay, this is weird, my plugins are showing under mac OS 9, but when im in mac os X my plugins are UNAVAILABLE....anyhelp anyone?

Are plugins also affected by the new OS X gui??

do a search for files with the extension .8bf and locate the folder and place your filters there, it should work....just dont overwrite anything

Okay, ive downloaded a shitload of plugins off of a sharing program, and eventhough the downloaded file says OS X, these dont work...some of them contain the new OS X icons, but still dont work under the genereal folder of PLUGINS....

i made my own folder "My Plugins" in the plugins folder, and specified that directory as an extra plugins folder for PS7.......still nothing.....these seem to ONLY work in OS 9.....

Is there a compatibility issue here on OS X, or am i just an idiot?
