Problem with my brushes

Just yesterday something strange happened to my brushes, and I couldn't tell you what I did to make this happen. All of my brushes have a hard edge. My soft brushes and airbrushes, anything with a feathered edge, is just a hard edge.

Anybody know what happened and what I can do to correct this? I've reset my brushes a few times and tried resetting a few other things, and nothing has worked. Help!

press <Shift>+<{> to make them softer, or <Shift>+<}> to make them harder - (also <[> / <]> adjusts the overall size of the brush on the fly ~ If you're using a Mac, substitute <Cmd> for <Ctrl> - - :)

go to where you can select a new brush.

there you will see mastar diamater and hardness.

hardness set to 100% is hard and set to 0% is soft.

that should do it :) ow i have photoshop CS forgot if its the same in 7 i know its not in 6 (atleast i dont know where)
