Align It For Me

How do you align things in Adobe. lets say i have a regtangle and i want to align it right in the middle of the work are how do i do that. And how do i align other things, Say i have bunch of line lets say 37 lines. i want them to be prefectly in the middle of the y-axis and at the same time i want them to be at the same distance from each other.

press ctrl+a (select all) while you're on the layer you want to align.
go to Layer>Align Selection> and there you have alignment possibilities.
