well try to uninstall photoshop and delete all files that contains photoshop files like empty directories...etc. Then restart you computer - wait a little bit and try to reinstall photoshop again. Maybe then it works....

Reinstall won't help. Try this:

Always the best place to start when PS acts up.

Was that the first time you installed Photoshop or has this error just come up one day?

I am def. not reinstalling the comp. This error occured yesterday night, and i used PS for some time now with out any errors.
im going to try ps 6.0 to see if it works....
I used to get that erorr but it only happenned once in a way only if i used the Filter>Render>kighting effects filter
doesnt happen anymore though and i think the only thing i did was installl some windows patch from the microsoft website and so like monk said it probably is a windows error so you might wanna try that ddly

Heh, I have to say, somthing isnt looking to good... I have NEVER seen a program appoligize when it commits an error... you might want to look into a virus scanner...
Anyways, good luck fixing it, and I hope you find a solution.

I had that one yesterday actually. I reboot fixed it for me, I still don't have a clue what caused it.

Agreed. Dosent exactly sound like an error the manufacturer would write into such a professional program.

It's not a virus. A corrupted file of windows...or you might have an older build of windows98SE. Only thing left is patching your version of windows, updating to ME,2000,XP, or formating your comp(which I don't think you should do).

Just delete Photoshop! Restart your Computer and Re-Install from your cd. Photoshop will run again!
