thats right, my favourite print, i'm not in a position where i can donate anything right now, so i figured the best way was to massage others into it, so, i'm donating a signed, very limited edition print (limited as in, there's only one that exists, only way i'll sell them in future will be through DAP, when i say signed, i mean, i'll write anything you want on the back of it, within reason :)), i have one copy of all my stuff for gallery purposes, single runs, leech has one, cone has one (and im sure they'll vouch for quality), but no more will be made this way, plus, this one is unique, as i'm not getting it reprinted for myself at this size, so it's as limited as they get

right, here's the deal, place your bid in this thread (or via pm if you wish to be anonymous), open until 12pm 1st december (edit- null, now 5th dec), highest bid gets it, then, this is the tricky part, money order will have to be sent first class (to be recieved by 6th dec) to the address in the mass email, more details will be given to the winning bid

this is important guys, we need to do whatever we can to keep GF alive, this is only one print, but your offer will help secure the future of this site, our online home, so think big picture, not just this little print

Awesome idea and very generous! Great print too.

I was thinking though, maybe the best way to maximise the value is to update this thread with the current highest bid. That way people can either better it, or not bother PMing you to say "I'll bid $5".

monk
12.01.04, 06:40 AM
agreed, see, im crap at this haha, place bids directly in here, but, as in auction houses, stick your bid in, and we do need it to be serious, money order only, first class, needs to be there by 6th (which is why other methods of payment will not help)

hightop
12.01.04, 06:42 AM
dunno, but wouldn't it be good to post the offer in here to, so people know what they gotta bid over????

edit: maybe i should have updated the thread before i posted.. hehe :P

edit2: just a question... first class?? what's that really???

monk
12.01.04, 07:00 AM

12pm, isnt that mid-day ? I think you mean midnight ? uk time ? or am i being thick ?

Veritas
12.01.04, 07:26 AM

monk, you're a freaking genius :D

monk
12.01.04, 08:02 AM
lol good point, go for 12midnight UKtime, as long as you're confident of getting the money transferred to the US by the 6th, the date is flexible

im not making anything from this, so theres nobody to offend, it's just a push to get people to donate to GF, which is the more important feature, this is just a print

(edit - changed to 5th december, keep this alive and active a bit longer, plus, i screwed up on the date in the first place haha, covering my bases)

Veritas
12.01.04, 09:36 AM
ill bid as soon as i find a place to do money orders....im in Canada...so i dont know how fast it can get to CA...i should know in a bit...as soon as i get a hold of a postal company.

::EDIT::

ok..after a long, wet walk in the snow...i found a post office, and they said the earlierst they could prob get it to CA was 5 business days....is that ok?

herd
12.01.04, 10:38 AM
if paypal option is allowed, why not put it on ebay?

daedal.
12.01.04, 01:32 PM
Damn, if I had some spare cash, I would definitly consider it. I freaking love that piece.

MEDesign
12.01.04, 01:42 PM

excellent, first bid in, i need to clarify about dates/payment options a bit more with Samuel, as i kind of jumped the gun with this thread, bit awry all round, but i'll get everything cleared up

didn't realise about the thread being hidden, another thing that will be sorted soon

apologies guys, but i'll get back to you when i know more

til then, keep bidding, and donating (it's like liveaid haha)

I'd truly love to bid, but have no idea whatshowever how payment would work or how I would go about doing so. I've never bought anything from different countries, and thus don't know what I'd need to do to get the money where it's supposed to go. Can someone fill me in on the basic procedure? Or won't it get there on time anyhow? (seeing as the 6th is the date set, and it's allready the 2nd here)

Veritas
12.01.04, 03:56 PM
go to post office and take money with u and place a money order.

pantheransl
12.01.04, 08:32 PM
what are the increments that we have to bid by, like for example, i wouldnt think i would be allowed to bid 1 penny more then somone else, it should go up by atleast 2 dollars or somthin like that imo

monk
12.01.04, 09:06 PM
rik, postalorder is just that, like a cheque that doesnt need to be cashed, fedex or business post should have fast services, just means it gets there on time, which is the main problem (i'll post the print from uk as soon as sam recieves money), panther, damn good point, $5 increments sound good to everyone?

sorry to chop and change things with this everyone, but i'm going to go out on a limb and say, 12midnight 2nd december UKtime, 4 days post time (well 3 and a half US) (edit - null - now 5th dec), as that seems to be more of the problem than the amount of people willing to donate

im really bad at this, i know, and you can all kick me later, things are a bit upside down behind the scenes so bear with us, we're trying our best to make things good

cmg_oh
12.01.04, 10:39 PM
Hmm... looks like Veritas has a bid of just under 17 USD, so $22. USD is my bid.
