save jpeg with thumbnail but not as photoshop "native"

I am vexed by this issue
I am using Photoshop CS in Mac OS X
If I save a copy as a jpeg, I get a generic icon that defaults to Photoshop when opened rather than open quickly in PictureViewer
I have already changed my preferences to non native
does anybody have a workaround?

you can achieve this simply by right-clicking any .psd, go to Open With ----> Choose Program, then choose PictureViewer, and check the option "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file".

do you know of a way when saving a jpeg in photoshop to have it automatically default to using PictureViewer or Preview?
or do I have to ctrl click and change settings when finished?

if you checked "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file", you won't have to ask him ever again, it will always open in pictureviewer by default.
