it looks nice but photoshop isnt for print work. you can edit photo's for printwork though.

the logo's would look better if you did it in illustrator.
the background and the guitar player can be done in PS.
the text would look better if you did that in InDesign or QuarkXpress, i would have to check but i think you can put the text like that (round) in InDesign.
either wya it would look better and the file size would be much smaller, cuz if this is all PS with a DPI of 300 it would be a huge file.

not bad man... but go for simple designs in the beginning. like a single color and straight regular fonts. these kinds of designs has to be readable and busy backgrounds do not help for that.

for ideas about how to handle the text and graphics. in your case the illustrations will be photos but the layouts are always similar :)

well i guess as long as you don't merge the text layers, they print out in postscript isn't ?

I am just curious about this text rendering. I understand that PS won't render it as well as InDesign, but shouldn't Illustrator be better if not equal at rendering the text as InDesign?

As for the poster, the text on the top and bottom look like they were stretched out, and I'm not liking that. The text on the left and right side, I think it would look better if it was aligned toward the inside rather than having the wierd center alignment. Also, the names at the bottom look like there wey just tacked on, kind of as an after-thought.

I do have to say that the image is interesting, especially the background, but I'm not a huge fan of the filter that you used on the person.

It is definately a good start though and does show that you learned a lot of useful PS techniques.

Kia ora, Thanks for the tips guys, the reason i only used Photoshop was that was all we were supposed to use for the project, next time ill be sure to heed your advice and use Indesign or something along those lines for my text work. Again thanks for the tips.
