painted from life, 5hr sitting, further 2hrs touching up

she was a pleasure to paint (sis-in-law), also forcing my lazy ass back into painting, using a bad computer to put myself off isn't a good enough excuse, will have to wait another 2 month before i lose this laptop so i'm getting used to it :pimp:

reminds me of the pictures you get from the people who sit on the side of the street with the stripey shitrt and funny little hats drawing people for money.

pretty amazing! one thing though, not sure if its my monitor being bright but the main facial areas seem a little lacking in depth? for example the contours on the upper lip and maybe cheek accentuation that people have?

the nose and eyes are amazing though. if you step back from the screen a bit it really does have photograph quality!

she is gorgeous, very nice painting. First time I've heard of a digital live painting,

Oh, wow, that looks amazing... So realistic! Unbelievably believable, you could say. LOL. Ignore my "humor". ;)

Without the hair, it looks like a photo. Great job!

I applaud her for the 5hr-sitting. I can't even sit still for 5 minutes.

Excellent job, very life-like. But there is something about the area between the eyes that looks off in my eyes. I can't quite put it into words but it sort of gives it an out of focus feel. I will not mention the hair. ;)

thanks everyone  , ash, yep, that was my fault, touching up afterwards, rule about life painting is to paint what you see, not what you think, so i kind of fell into old habits when she wasn't around, the lightsource was originally above, but i kind of killed that by shading straight on light (what i'm used to seeing), messed with brightness/contrast too, lightened it up a bit too much (thought it gave it an etherial look but it would probably have been better the way it was),
sjadow, was fun, i had planned on doing it in acrylic, but was much quicker to do digitally, plus she played on a laptop so she wasn't too bored, wish i could pin down the missus for a few hours without the boy running around
cmg, yep, i had the right eye (from our perspective) a little further out, but her eyes looked too far apart so i nudged it in, not perfect, it's either that, or, the white hihglights, it's a bitch getting them right, the hair thing, i know, i'm going to touch up the top half for print, bottom half i reckon i'll leave rough, she's got long hair so it'd be odd looking if i carried it on further down
