View Full Version : FLASH: audio/video synchronize impossible?

I have a video I've imported into flash, embedded so that I can create timeline shortcuts.

The video plays faster than it should and the audio (which plays normal) doesn't match up. I really need to get these to match, but can't figure out how.

Anyone have any ideas???

Thanks.

Is the main project set on stream ? If so, you should put a total preload for the video and sound. I suppose that if it's set on Stream, the video get loaded faster and play some miliseconds before. I may be wrong..

No, it's weird.

The actual video is playing faster than it should be. SOmething to do with framerate. ALthough after testing, it doesn't make much sense.

I can take a full video and import it, and it plays with the sound and video no matching (the problem).

Then, I can take the video and cut it in half in Premiere, so it's the same video (1st half), and the same sound, and import it the same way, and it plays correctly... totally bizarre. And driving me nuts!

it's been a few years since i messed with flash...but i remember MX having an option where you could synchronize sounds with video...i believe this option can be accessed from the properties of the sound clip...either that or from the frame where the audio is attached...can't really remember, sorry.

maybe do a search for the terms "audio+synchronize" in the Flash Manual?

you might find the solution here
Googled: macromedia flash+audio+synchronize (http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF8&q=macromedia+flash%2Baudio%2Bsynchronize)

i've done this a long time ago, i just don't remember how

Thanks guys - I managed to get it working well enough for the intended purpose. I think from now on, the shorter the video, the better.

I have't played with flash in a while but all you need to do is have a load statment. like all those loading screens you see. on every flash site.
