Japanese in Photoshop

I am trying to make an image in photoshop that includes the adding of a few Japanese characters. The problem is I don't seem to be able to type them in. My computer had far east languages enabled and I am able to type in Japanese in other programs using the IME.
I have tried doing the edit-> prefs -> type thing to add the asian fonts but when i select them to type in they still show up in regular english.

Does anyone know how to fix this? thanks in advance.

I have no idea how to fix it, but I can get around the problem/

Go to a language translator like http://www.worldlingo.com (http://www.worldlingo.com/) or http://www.babelfish.com (http://www.babelfish.com/).
Have them translate your phrase. Copy the Japanese characters, and paste into Photoshop. I've done this in Illustrator so I can't imagine it not working in Photoshop.
