Airbrush?

I have never understood the function of the Airbrush option when using brushes. When I "brush" with my Wacom and turn Airbrush on, I see no change. Could someone give me some explanation? Thanks.

The airbrush works in conjunction with the flow setting on the opiton bar. Select a hard brush, for example, select air brush, and move the flow back to something like 25%. The longer you hold your pen over a location the more "ink" is applied to that area. Now try it with the airbrush turned off, and you'll see no buildup of ink.
