Good uk webdesign?

I'm not sure if this is in the right forum but I'm trying to find some good web design companies in the uk but my tireless search on google is coming up empty.

Anyone know of any good (ie design centered) firms?

It's always better to design it yourself :snake: but if you need to go to a firm I suggest you check out your local yellow pages.
When browsing around to get some work experience a found several very decent design firms out there, both for graphic and web design. And of course, you can get their site address from the yellow pages and check out their work online.

in carlisle, no, sorry, but through searching through the yellow pages i managed to find a company that gave me a couple weeks work experience

you're probably better off checking freelance listings rather than finding a local service, you'll get a much better range of skill and competitiveness than a fixed firm, there are a lot of freelance webdesigners who can't get fixed employment that are a lot more talented (and probably cheaper) than what uk design houses offer (this is entirely depending on whether you're looking for a service or looking for employment hehe)

Thanks for the links, especially the firmlist one (they should really speak to google or something, I was typing in webdesign, web design, london, edinburgh, new media not to mention a few million other variations and never came across the thing).

And yes, I am (as monk so clearly worked out) trying to find companies for possible employment ;)
