Various Effects ...

Ok, I'm in need of some serious help. In general, I need some effects for my graphics. Gradients, patterns, and greyscaling isn't working for me anymore. I was browsing through and came across Funkified Designs (http://www.funkified.org). If you take a look at her Portfolio she has some great effects. I like the grungy look. Any idea? Or just effects in general. Gee, I have a major graphic block!!!!!! I'm making a fan site, and I'm trying to work with photos of that specific artists...which may be limiting me? Id suggest going on a texture hunt, most of what i have seen in her portfolio can be achieved by overlaying textures, about 80% of them are color dodged too, with the odd grid and such placed over, it's more experimentation than anything else that'll give you results, tutorials and the like can only go so far but if you get some good textures and have a play you'll be ok, try different thing like erasing parts of the texture too, and i use image/adjust/variations a LOT
