Ok I've seen many of the breath taking graphic, and even avatar, having this, white eyes or completely dark ones. How do you great artist get those kind of effect, I think Hydrofoils avatar has this bulging white eyes, awesome, I would love to know how to do that, and also the dark one.

Many thanks, reply is appreciated.

well, the way i make it, it's brush work..
fill the inner part of the eye with the colour you want, using a brush.
then, using a soft airbrush, i add highlights and shadows to it.. to create some depth.
if you have any questions, Pm me..

simplest thing for black or white eyes... use the Burn tool for black and Dodge tool for white... srength at about 40% and set it to midtones... fiddle with the setting i'm not exactly sure...

try mystic's site... i think he has a tut on blacked out eyes...

i usually deal with eyelashes and similar things in this way

1: duplicate the layer(ctrl+J) (you will use this as a "guide")

2: use curves (ctrl+M) or any other tools you might think will work in the Image>adjust> section (the aim is to make the the part of the image you want to edit as contrasting as possible...doesnt matter if you ruin the image coz you have made a copy of that layer)

3: use Filters>Extract (i forgot the shortcut :) ) or maybe the Mask depending with what youre comfortable with to edit the image and get what you want

Of course this is an easy way...you can use alpha layers and such to get what you want also....maybe do a google search for image extraction in photoshop? i vaguely remember seeing a detailed tute on this at www.about.com in the photoshop section
good luck
