when i want something for print, how do u prepare it for print? Does that mean that u have it at 300dpi for print? or should it be at a higher dpi?
/me moves to design concepts and conversation
150dpi is fine
make sure you have bleeds and crop marks (do a search and you'll find some results on GF for that)
use CMYK or RGB depending on the printer

thx a lot Bane, that is what I needed...but what exactly are bleed and crop marks....is that a white border around the outside that u can cutoff after printed?
you didnt do a search for bleed and crop marks did you? :P heh heh well anyway just have a look here (http://www.graphic-forums.com/showthread.php?postid=23292#post23292)
crop marks is just to help the printers cut stuff out.
There are actually two different types of crop marks i know of, the normal one and the japanese crop marks. i have to learn more about that though bt i do know the normal basic crop marks are lines drawn outside the print area to indicate where the image will be cut out from.
Keep looking into this forum, i have a few threads on that kind of stuff with illustrations coming up :D

It all depends on where you are going to print. If it is at home it will depend on your printer and also on the type of paper you are using (the printer should have several types already set). If you are taking it out for printing, then you should call the place and ask for their requirements (some work with 300dpi, others with more, others with less, not to mention the file type).

Veritas,
What kind of files are you working in? I'm assuming Photoshop where 300 dpi is fine.
If your working in Illustrator or Freehand is good to set your files to 2540 dpi this will help elimainate blocky looking type.
