Hi Everyone,

Could someone please give me some assistance with the following?
I'm new to Illustrator and graphic programs and I want to create a business card that looks the text (card details) have been etched in glass. Is this possible?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I don't even know what etched in glass looks like.

Hi Cone Graf,

I probably didn't make myself clear enough. I meant that I wanted an effect like a piece of glass with the text etched into the glass. Does that make it any clearer?

Thanks.

Yes i know what you mean, i just can't remember what that looks like.

If i recall, i would say you'd have to play with gradients white and light blue, and then with alot of opacity :)

Hi Cone Graf,

Thanks for the reply. I'm not really sure how to do what you suggest but I'll have a "play" and see if I can fluke it.

It's really hard to explain, especially when i don't have a specific tutorial you can walk through.

But i believe gradients is the answer

Hi Tsunami & Cone Graf

Thanks for the help. I'm not sure about tutorial link though. It looks like he missed about 14 steps between the last and second last frames. :-))

I'd settle for a sheet of glass effect if I could get it and I'd worry about the text side of things later maybe.

Thanks.

your best bet is to find some reference of etched glass, then you can base your image on that.
