You can use both programs
I suggest not to use PS for typo though :)

Well designing a brochure in Photoshop would be plain stupid. You have no idea how much work and time that would take.
what do you mean?...dont be lazy and write what you know about DTP in a new thread and make it sticky...if you know alot, write a book and send me a free copy..and if you get stuck anywhere always feel free to ask me...I'd be glad to help you :)

I am in the middle of writting an article on DTP in general, either to be published on my new site or CGInsider.
What i mean is that making let's just say and 16 pages brochure, each page made in Photoshop in 300 DPI
Don't you think that would be somewhat timeconsuming.
Having 2 files, one PSD and one flattened file for each page. I did it once and believe me, it's a bitch
:edit:
But to help sjlover1 out i suggest you check out the threads in this forum, plus check out CGInsider issue 1 and 2 wich both contains articles on printing.
If you only have Photoshop and Illustrator i suggest you use Illustrator.
ah now I see...well thats why indesign is for isnt it?...make the images in PS export and add typo in indesign and your boss will love you and you'll get a raise so you can go out to better places, meet some girls and impress them showing the broshure you just made...:D
