 its my first try with no help...
...got anytips, I am wanting to learn. That's the whole point of it!
Didnt mean to be rude or anything, just told you my honest opinion. :) You should check out some tuts. Prometheus got a few nice ones: http://www.prometheus-design.org/learn.htm . A few here aswell: http://www.good-tutorials.com/search.php?q=manip . You can also do a search here at the forums and also in google, youll find plenty of tutorials.

cheers :)
Chris is going to be reeeeeeally pissed off if he sees that... plus natalie will be kicking you.
it does need texture, and take out the exam hall in the back and replace it. Easy to do: Duplicate your Chris layer and delete the original. Erase all the bits around him [this will take time but you need to be patient] really accurately, with anti-aliasing ON. Make sure the edges are ever so slightly soft so it looks smooth and clean, but not too much to make him hazy. THen stick your background in, maybe blend a bit of him into the background, add some shadowing... ehhhh... just keep working at it.
:)
That does sound like an awfully hard way doin it, alex. I would personally use the extract tool.
Sorry c0rn, I forgot that PS has an extract tool - I use Corel Photo-paint... it's just like photoshop, except with a few less features and a few more.
